"Ch ch ch chaaanges!!"

I arrived here safe and sound Thursday night, and picked up right where I left off with the boys. I was greeted by smiling, laughing faces that I hugged and didn't want to let go of. I've only been here less than 48 hours and yet I feel right at home again--in the muggy heat, early mornings, and chaos of things never being "on time" and plans always changing.

Right now Lisa, the boys, and I are all living at her friends' house since Lisa has officially sold & moved out of the house down by the river. Unfortunately, the timing of the new house being finished wasn't exactly on track with the old house being moved out of. The new house up on the mountain is built, but still under construction with electricity (which should be done by monday) and there is no kitchen (the plan is to build an outside kitchen like most Hondurans have here). Also, the new house is up on a mountain in the jungle with a road leading up to it that turns to dangerously slick mud on a steep slope that isn't drivable after heavy rain. The road is in process, but they can only work on it when it is dry and safe to take trips of supplies up and down it.
Please pray for NO RAIN the next few months so we can finish the road!! Although it IS rainy season, last year we prayed for no rain as we finished the roof of the house and God stalled the rainy season until several months later in the year and we were able to finish that stage of construction. Also, the rest of the road will cost a total of $10,000 to finish. This includes paying for the worker's labor, renting equipment, buying cinder blocks, cement, etc. Building the road any time soon seems impossible, but then again the house was built in stages with no money in sight for it, and as funds were donated Lisa built a section of it piece by piece. We are believing and praying the same for the road construction.

Did I mention Lisa's friends we're staying with just had a litter of 8 adorable puppies!?!!? One of the perks of living here temporarily is endless puppy snuggles.

Our hope is to move into the mountain home (also called the 'castle home' since it was a dream of Lisa's years and years ago for her ministry) on Monday since the electricity is supposed to be finished by then. All of Lisa and the boys' stuff is moved into the house, but because they had to move out in a hurry everything is disorganized, some packed in boxed and some packed in garbage bags, and scattered about everywhere. Please pray we can move up there on Monday without anything going wrong! And that we can somehow slowly organize and clean up everything.

The boys finish up school in a few weeks and then will have all of December and January as vacation. A friend of Lisa's is teaching a Spanish class in the States and had the idea of the boys being pen pals with the kids in her class. This morning the boys wrote their first letters to their pen pals in the States...it's kind of a weird concept to them since they've never heard of a 'pen pal' but they're excited about it nonetheless.

Thank you to to everyone who has prayed for and encouraged me in serving here with the boys, and shout out to everyone who donated clothes and shoes to them!! I haven't given them the clothes yet, but when they saw me with so much luggage and knew I was only here for 3 weeks...they definitely suspected I had brought stuff for them too. But they will still be surprised by how NICE and how MUCH stuff you all gave them!
