Honduras 2015.
I've been waiting to write that title for two years now.
I graduated with my BSN a few weeks ago and tomorrow I take the NCLEX, which is the nursing license exam. After that I will OFFICIALLY and finally be an RN, BSN and done with school.
*Cue tears of joy*
Friday afternoon I'm flying out to Balfate, Honduras to relieve my friend Lisa Bradley and run Bethesda Home For Boys with another volunteer for two weeks so she can come back to the States for a long overdue trip. But...there has been a slight change of plans and she may not end up coming back to the States due to flights being so expensive. Please PRAY that God would make this possible by flights significantly dropping in price or someone donating funds specifically to support her trip.
My past trips were for 3 months at Hospital Loma de Luz (LDL Blog) and then 6 weeks with Bethesda Home for Boys in 2013 (see old posts on this blog page). This time is a quick 2 week trip to help Lisa with everything and anything while I'm there.
I don't remember the last time my life has been so crazy in a matter of a 3 week chunk of time. Graduated. Moved to a new house. Taking NCLEX. Going to Honduras. Starting a new job 3 days after I get back.
The past few years have been extremely difficult for both my family and myself personally with chronic health conditions, several deaths in the family, and learning my "new normal" and grieving / letting go of the things I can't do anymore. But--bubbling to the surface of everything that tries to overwhelm me, is God's faithfulness. He is always faithful. And that is the one thing I can always count on.
Lately Isaiah 46:4 has been soothing my heart.
"...I will sustain you and I will rescue you."
God is that straightforward and that powerful.
My past trips to Honduras God has prepared my heart and spoke to me through a song for several months leading up to the trip. But this time I'd say there are two songs He has sang over me since last winter.
Bethel's You Don't Miss a Thing.
"You see it all, you're all around me...
When I withdraw, still you pursue...
There's no place I can go your love won't find me,
No place I could hide that you don't see.
When I'm misunderstood, your love understands me.
You see it all, you see it all.
Come and see me, come and know me.
Come and search my heart and make me new, make me new, I wanna be just like you."
Bethel's In Over My Head.
"I'm standing knee deep, but i'm out where I've never been.
And I feel you coming, and I hear your voice on the wind...
Further and further, my heart moves away from the shore.
Whatever it looks like, whatever may come, I am yours...
Whether I sink, whether I swim, it makes no difference when
I'm beautifully in over my head."
Please pray for safety and wisdom as I travel and during my time there with the boys.
Please pray for my physical health to be stable and to have lots of energy for each day there.
That God would show me how to navigate conflicts, decisions, and have the right words to say in difficult situations.
Bendiciones,
Marie
